The Secondary School commences with the one-year Pre-IGCSE Year 9, leading into the two years of the IGCSE course during Year’s 10 and 11. Upon successful completion of their IGCSE examinations, pupils progress to take their AS and A-level courses in Year’s 12 and 13, before moving on to universities across the globe.
The range of subjects on offer is extensive compared to many British curriculum schools, with traditional options augmented by subject choices like Music, Law, Drama, Psychology, Sociology, Economics and Business Studies.
Parents are sometimes uncertain when comparing the Kenyan KCPE/KCSE system to the British system. This confusion is not helped by the fact that at Brookhouse we follow a northern hemisphere academic year, from August to June, while the Kenyan system runs from January to December.
